ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The program offers participants from various
disciplines a comprehensive background in management skills. The sound
formation provided in the program equips the student with an enhanced awareness
of the organization and its problems, and is aimed at developing the student's
ability to apply managerial concepts and techniques to practical business
situations.
There is no formal concentration or major offered. However,
the program offers the opportunity to develop a particular area of expertise
through the elective courses offered in the following fields:

The program incorporates a comprehensive and
well-balanced range of MBA foundation courses and provides the opportunity to
develop a particular area of expertise through the elective courses and a
supervised Master's thesis. However, there is no formal concentration or major
offered.

No, but you may apply for a Research Assistantship.
Becoming a Research Assistant at the Department entitles you to a tuition
waiver and a monthly stipend.
Selection and application procedures for the Research Assistantship
position is completely separate from those of the MBA Program. The Department
of Business Administration announces position openings whenever they become
available. The positions usually become available in January and June.)
The MBA Program is designed for a full-time student.
The course schedule is spread over five days during the week. Working full-time
or part-time while enrolled in the program is not practical and is not advised
by the Department.

Yes. The required tests are listed below:
1. Akademik Personel ve Lisansüstü Eğitim Sınavı (ALES) offered by the Öğrenci Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi (ÖSYM): The minimum test score required for application is 45 for LES and 55 for ALES; however, admitted students have much higher scores (see below for details). LES and ALES scores can be at most two years old.
(This test is required only for applicants who are Turkish citizens.)

Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)
Minimum test score for application is 450; however, admitted students have much higher scores.
2. An accepted certification of English Proficiency.
The English Proficiency requirement may be satisfied through one of the
following examinations:

40 students are admitted from among the applicant pool
each year.
No, work experience is not a requirement for admission. However, relevant work-experience
prior to enrollment provides the student with an opportunity to improve
understanding of the concepts through a practical approach. It may also add to
the student's contribution to case study applications.
If you are a Turkish student, the GMAT is not a requirement.
International students have to take the GMAT. For information about the GMAT,

No, there is no minimum CGPA required for admission. However, admitted students have high CGPAs (see below).
The CGPA and LES/ALES (or GMAT) scores receive approximately equal weights in the evaluation procedure. The minimum scores mentioned above are usually not sufficient for admissions. Please see the next question for recent average scores of applicant accepted for the program. There are no interviews conducted. You need to submit two letters of reference and a statement of purpose together with your application. These will count towards roughly 10% of your evaluation.
Important Reminder: The English score is a pre-screening requirement. Unless you satisfy the English proficiency requirement through one of the examinations above, your application will not be processed.
For the students accepted in the Fall 2007-2008 term, the average LES score was 65.8, the average ALES score was 85.6, and the average CGPA was 3.23 out of 4.0.
