Welcome to the class web page
for section 02 of BA1402 Financial Accounting, taught at the department of Business
Administration at the Middle East
Technical University. The course is taught by
Asst. Prof. Dr.
Adil Oran.
The course is part of the core curriculum of our undergraduate education and aims to help the potential managers understand accounting concepts and learn to speak "the language of business". This course used to be offered in the second year of the program over two semesters. Due to our efforts to improve our curriculum, students will now be only required to take this course but interested students may proceed to take a number of additional courses in the subject. Final exam results have been uploaded! The course will use a style of instruction that combines traditional lecturing and homeworks with "in-class mini assignments" and occasional quizzes. Emphasis will be on Participative learning as opposed to note taking. The presentation material for the subject will be made available as notes prior to class and should cut down significantly on the need to jot down everything, thus allowing you to do some actual thinking. You are encouraged to participate and ask questions (don't be worried, I'll tell you if we don't have time), occasionally I will force you to take part (so it's not a good idea to take long naps in class!).
